China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, is held biannually in Guangzhou every spring and autumn, with a history of 55 years since 1957. Hong Kong Houseware Fair

The 2012 edition featured over 2,000 exhibitors from 33 countries and regions. More than 26,000 buyers, from 132 countries and regions, came through the doors over the four days of the fair. The top visiting countries and regions were Australia, Canada, Chinese mainland, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the UK and the US. Among the big names attending were Bed Bath N' Table from Australia, QVC Handel GmbH from Germany, Nitori Co Ltd from Japan, El Corte Ingles S.A. from Spain and Z Gallerie from the US.

The visitor figures for 2012 showed an increase of 7% over 2011. Growth of buyers from markets providing the biggest growth in buyer included Germany, India, Malaysia, Poland, Thailand, USA, etc. These statistics provide evidence of a recovery in the global economy, with emerging markets performing particularly strongly, with buyers drawn to the fair to assess trends, stock up on the latest products and open up new markets.

The fair is a hub for the newest and hottest products in houseware. It is composed of theme zones that enable exhibitors to target large numbers of buyers that are right for them. While some zones focus on particular product categories - covering all the sectors of the houseware market, others put the limelight on creativity, designer collections, top trends and contemporary lifestyle choices.
